Happy Valentines Day Lyla Grace.
Another 'first' for Lyla. I had the camera ready to take pics. of her when I went to get her out of her crib this morning. She is always so freaked out when she wakes up to me taking pictures(that's why they did not turn out too well)... so I put the camera down and gave her a big valentine hug!

We did our usual cuddling/cartoon time in Mommy/Daddys bed before we went downstairs for breakfast... and when we did, we were surprised with balloons, candy and of course Gerber Puffs! Yum! Lyla was super excited (as she was the night before when Grandpa Moe & Grandma Kim stopped by with Valentine treats...she is SO spoiled). Anyway, after breakfast we made a valentine for Daddy. Lyla scribbled on some paper, and herself... and then she had some help from me with glue, ribbon and stickers... but it turned out super cute and Daddy loved it!

I'm finally feeling a little better. I have had a horrible sinus infection the last week. Luckily Lyla and Eric haven't caught anything. We are so over this weather. Lyla and I are headed to Florida on Friday to visit my mom and grandmother. It's not really warm down there, but it's got to be better than Maryland! Florida, here we come! Oh, and in the Valentine bag Eric and I made up for Lyla, she got a bathing suit and some other sundresses for the trip. Well, after she tried on the bathing suit, she would NOT take it off! It was so funny. She kept rubbing her belly because she loved the feeling and when I went to take it off she screamed, "nnnoo, nnnnooo, nnnnoo"! So, thank goodness we didn't have anyone stop by, because they would have thought I was nuts when they saw Lyla crawling around wearing a bathing suit in February!

We did however have a special visitor on our deck today. I think she was a single squirrel. You know when you are sad and lonely on Valentines day... you watch sappy movies and eat a whole box of chocolates. Well Squirelly looked sad and lonely and she practically inhaled a whole DONUT!

Hope you had a great Valentines Day. xoxo

Blogging the Blizzard. Round 2.
Yesterday afternoon I called my dad..."Do you think you could pick up Lyla and I? We NEED to GET OUT of the HOUSE.".... 45 minutes later we were loading up the car! Thank GOD.

It was so nice to spend the night out after being trapped inside over the weekend. We had a great time at my dads. Lyla got to meet two new friends, Mazy and Jasper (adorable 7 month old twins), play with Pop and Marmee and she used her walker all over there house (there is a lot of open space, so she went to town). This morning I could not decide whether to stay there for the new storm approaching or go home. After getting super stressed out about it, my dear husband said, (yelled at me) "make a decision." So... here we are at home...

(sorry Eric, I know you are working super long hours, your body aches and your are sleep deprived... hhmm, maybe we should have stayed at my dads....?) xoxox

Anyway, tonight we are watching the snowfall, getting our baths/showers and watching American Idol! We are so excited for Ellen!

The snow has stopped.
The snow stopped falling at our house around 3pm.

P.s. Eric made it to work... safe. He said he did not see many cars on the road, "only idiots like me, and a police officer."- E.E.

Blogging the Blizzard, Day 2.
Wowzzzerrrs!!!! We woke up to A LOT of SNOW!! Eric ended up driving home from work last night at 3am... yes, after blogging about how people should not be driving in a blizzard, my husband is one of them! Nice. He actually just headed back into work... BGE has restored about 42,000 people out of service so far, and as of 1pm, there were still 38,000 outages.

Lyla had a rough morning. She was very grumpy/sad. The only thing that made her happy was the remote control. She kept putting it up to her ear and talking! She did enjoy watching Eric dig us out, and she watched the neighborhood kids play in our front yard, because apparently it was the "cool" place to be. Before her nap she got to have some chocolate covered snow... I'm sure that felt good on her gums. Great snack idea moms... just scoop up some white snow and mix in some chocolate syrup, juice or fruit (anything yummy) and wwhhala! Fun winter snack!

Check out our blizzard pictures!

Blizzard in Baltimore.
11pm, so far-so good. Our day started off like every other Friday, by going to Gymboree. I thought it was so funny that Lyla's school was open yet local colleges were closed! The snow actually started just as we were leaving Gymboree. We quickly ran a few errands and headed home. After Lyla had her nap and lunch I opened up the front door for her to watch the snow. She sat for about 5 minutes... and then got bored.. So she helped me do laundry, and played with the vacuum cleaner (really, she loves it)! As the night went on and the snow really started coming down, I went out to shovel and she watched from inside. That entertained her for about an hour. When we layed down and watched 'Yo Gabba Gabba' tonight we had hot chocolate (well, L had warm milk mixed with a tsp. of Hershey's). Yum!

Eric is hard at work, approximately 6000 customers out of power, so far. When I talked to him an hour ago he was on an outage job because a driver ran into a pole.... Be safe, stay in, don't drive!!
