Third Annual Halloween Costume Contest and Parade.
On Saturday we celebrated Makenzies first birthday! She had a Sesame Street themed party at a local park, and Lyla had a great time. We didn't get to stay as long as we would have liked, but we couldn't miss the Halloween festivities in our neighborhood.

This year Lyla Grace dressed up as a 1920's Flapper.

I got the idea for this costume over the summer. Her grandparents took her to "Old Time Photo's"  when they had her at the beach one weekend. Lyla came home with a picture dressed up as a Flapper. She was wearing a boa and holding a bottle of whisky. It's priceless. Kim said she was not too thrilled about dressing up for the picture. They had to "photo shop" a smile on her face!

Luckily she was not too scarred by this incident,
because she was eager to dress up for the parade!

This year, Lyla won second place!!

I wasn't able to get many pictures on Saturday, so today we took advantage of the 70 degree weather and headed to the park for a Halloween photo shoot. I'm so glad we did. Now I have some cute costume pictures taken, and I will not have to worry about them on Halloween.

Lyla won a gift card to Toys R Us, so after our photo shoot, that's where we headed!
We are looking forward to Trick or Treating next week!

Happy Birthday Papa!
We celebrated Moes birthday last weekend. Lyla was super excited to sing "Happy Birthday To You" and eat some cake, of course!

She is Papa's "pretty girl" so she had to wear some lipgloss for his party. She really is getting good at putting on all by herself.  Lately, she has to do EVERYTHING all by herself.

She wanted to stop and pick some flowers-

Eric reminded her we were walking 2 blocks with an ICE CREAM cake, and that if she didn't move a little faster, it would melt-

That made her move faster!

Eric and I had just got home from our 4th Annual Atlantic City Christmas shopping trip. We had a good time, and are off to a great start with gifts.
We sure did miss Lyla though. It was nice to spend some time relaxing with her and the fam.

We enjoyed coloring,

Yummy food,

 and the cake!

Happy Birthday Moe! We love you. xo

Parents say, "when they are quiet, you have to worry."

I didn't catch her drawing on the walls, or putting on my make-up.

No, she was "fixin."

I quickly grabbed my camera.
After snapping a few pics. I asked her what she was doing...

She said:
"Fixin door. Help Daddy. Daddy's tools. Help him."

She used a philips head screwdriver AND she DID get the top screw out of our door (hinge? lock? Moe or Daddy... what is that thing called?)

Anyway, that's what I caught my little princess getting into. She is a trip!

Oh, and by the way... today she asked me to call her Lyla Grace
NOT Lyla.

What am I in for?!

Happy Half Birthday.
You only eat half of your dinner.
You put your shirt on half-way, before asking for help.
You color half of a page in your coloring book, before starting a new one.
When we are half-way through a bedtime story, you ask for another.
You have outgrown half of your toys, and are  willing to give them away.

Happy Half Birthday
Lyla Grace.
We love you a Whole lot!
