This month Lyla finished up her 4th year of dance.

That sounds funny, considering she is only 5 years old, but she started when she was just 18 months.

Eric and I had signed her up for the dance class because her session was about to end at Gymboree and we still wanted her to be "social" with other children. When she started ballet, she had only been walking for 3 months! She cried the first couple of weeks we took her.
Ms. Nicolle would pull her in the class, give us a wave, and closed the door.

Lyla has come a long way in the short amount of time since she started.

She takes her classes seriously. She tries her best. She is a good listener. She is an awesome friend. She is brave.
 She loves to dance.

May we share some pictures with you?

Cheesy, I know, but here is a look at last month:

I set the self timer on my camera and attempted to get a shot of the 3 of us. I have many pictures of Eric and Lyla. I have a few of Lyla and I.

 Here is our attempt at a family pic.

Lyla picked out my Mothers Day gift with just a little help from Eric.
 She loves giving presents.
{Yes, she is wearing a Senor Frogs t-shirt, tutu and fairy wings}

I bought this coffee cup a couple of months ago while we were in Disney. I love it. If you know me, you know I'm not a morning person. If you know "The Little Mermaid," you will totally love this cup.

Lyla and MomMom enjoying a beautiful Mothers Day.

This was another attempt at a group shot. Thank goodness the Rizzo clan was wearing sunglasses. They are a bunch of blinkers!

Dance class came to an end in May. Twinkle Toes had quite a few rehearsals though.

My dads Uncle (Bill) passed away in May.  He was very funny, had a strong faith, loved his family and served our country. He will be missed.

On Memorial day we thought about him and others who have served our country.
Our American Girl:

 We are painting Lylas room.

When I was pregnant, Eric and I didn't know if we were going to have a boy, or a girl. So we painted the room a light blue (which could work for either gender).  For those planning on having children, we highly recommend NOT finding out what you are going to have. Still one of the best decisions we have ever made together.

Anyway...after five years, we agreed to a pink room.

During a storm in March, part of  our fence blew down. Eric finally got around to putting it back up. He was really excited about using some power tool. I think I even heard him making a "'Tim the Tool Man Taylor," grunting sound. All I know is, it drilled holes in cement.
Boys will be boys.

Lady had a little precedure. There will not be any puppies in her future.

We spent a lovely day at Ladew. We really enjoyed the gardens and we plan on going back sometime soon.

We hope everyone had a wonderful May!

Eric and Lyla signed up for a Father/Daughter dance class in March. They go to an hour and a half class once a week. They have learned the Waltz, how to perform a 'fight scene,' and mastered a booty bump!

Watching these two dance together is just the cutest!!!

You guys make me "Happy!"

The Espositos hope everyone had an Eggcellent Easter!

 We had fun eating breakfast with the Bunny, making home made chocolates with GiGi, egg hunting & enjoying basket goodies.

{Then we got hit with the stomach virus, that part has not been fun}

Otherwise, April has been pretty good to us.

It's hard to believe, our baby turned five.
She's getting BIG.

Ironically, we started her birthday off going to see the movie, BIg.
Marti saw that it was showing at the Senator Theater at 10am, March 29th.
Who doesn't want to start their birthday off with Tom Hanks and popcorn?

We had all watched this classic before, a countless amount of times,
but there was something special about seeing it, in Baltimore's historical theater.

I'm pretty sure this is Lylas favorite scene:

After the movie, Lyla got to open her present.
 If you know Lyla, you know she loves American Girl.
Every year, a 'Girl of the Year' is released. This year, she is a dancer.
Lyla has asked for her nearly every day in 2014. She opened her up on her birthday.

Meet Isabelle Palmer:

After gifts she had a Hip Hop class. Her birthday doesn't stop her.
Hip Hop and you don't Stop.

I said a hip hop,
Hippie to the hippie,
The hip, hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it
To the bang bang boogie, say, up jump the boogie,
To the rhythm of the boogie, the beat.

{If you were growing up anytime in the 80's, you just rapped that}

And of course, we headed to Red Robin for dinner.
She was spoiled with more presents, we enjoyed our food and  shared some good laughs.

Before heading home, we stopped by Toys R Us. Lyla had a gift card and was ready to shop.
After seeing how much fun Josh and Billy had with their walkie talkies in BIG,
she decided she wanted a set for herself!

{Good Night Mrs. Baskin!}

Lyla had a very special day.
She is a very special girl.

Happy 5th Birthday Lyla Grace!
